Growing up in Jaipur (Rajasthan), Inder Raj was always exposed to the rich history, culture and food the historic city had to offer. The forts, palaces and the museums attracted millions of tourists from all over the world, and his family hotel business right in the middle taught him what exceptional guest service looks like.

Born into a family of entrepreneurs, Inder Raj was always searching for his opportunity to start a business. He found it in 2008, during the second year of his BBA program. His food truck, The Canteen, was an instant hit. Being a student himself gave him the insight into what his customers wanted, and what the competition lacked. His charismatic personality and wit may have also played a small part. The Canteen grew into five trucks across two cities. In 2016, he sold the business, making a handsome return on his investment.

In 2011, he studied Hotel Operations Management from SHMS, Caux. The PGDP gave him the exposure and skills he would use in both his family hotel and his food trucks to deliver extraordinary guest experiences.

In 2018, Inder Raj and his spouse, Harsmita, moved to Surrey, BC. During his stints in construction, food delivery, as an Uber driver and furniture warehouse manager, Inder Raj was always on the lookout for a business opportunity.

In 2021, he pitched the idea for Those Indian Guys to Vineet and Harsmita. They loved it, and here we are.

Born in the bustling streets of New Delhi, Vineet grew up in a lively joint family, where food was not just a necessity but a celebration. While his cousins were out on the playground, Vineet would sneak into the kitchen, captivated by the magic his mother created with spices. His passion for food only grew stronger as he pursued his postgradu­ate studies at the Swiss Hotel Management School in 2011.

From boutique hotels to managing F&B operations, at global chain hotels Vineet’s professional journey is a testament to his hands-on approach and his innate ability to make things happen. The same drive led him to Surrey, where he traded fine dining for a fresh, vibrant concept that has become Those Indian Guys.

Born to a family of doctors in Ludhiana, Harsmita was always expected to excel—and she did. But her heart wasn’t in medicine. Instead, she pursued history, acing her studies at Delhi’s Jesus and Mary College. Her insatiable curiosity and strong work ethic later found a home in event management and banqueting in her husband Inder’s family business.

In 2018, Harsmita moved to Surrey, seamlessly transitioning into customer-centric roles. Her ability to lead with confidence, coupled with her knack for creating systems, has been instrumental in shaping Those Indian Guy’s smooth operations and impeccable service standards.
